We've teamed up with Executive Chef, Avi Shemtov, to bring 'Simcha' to Roslindale this October. Focused on the foods of his childhood presented through the lens of his adulthood and his culinary experiences, Simcha aims to bring outside the box modern Israeli cuisine to the Boston food scene. The pop up will feature a constantly evolving menu from the collective minds of Shemtov and sous chefs Falco Rodriguez, Matt Jones, Frank Drury and Chris Skikas. Local produce will be featured from Ward's Berry Farm (from Shemtov's hometown) and many of the meats served will be butchered local animals broken down by Joe Henry, a trained butcher from New Zealand who has worked with the Chickpea team in the past.
The food we’re cooking showcases the history of the Jewish migration across north Africa, the Mediterranean, and eventually around the world and also highlights contemporary techniques, too.
